Nice lady handed me this female Dachshund and it fucking bit my upper lip !!!!
The Irony Is that we were seriously thinking of getting one.

We had one until it shuffled off to the great kennel in the sky last year.
They can be aggressive little fuckers to people they don't know, but loyal to their own family, so you'd be much less likely to be nipped by your own unless you were goading it on purpose.
They do have delusions of being big dogs. Ours went for a whole herd of deer in Bushy Park once. Big stag stomped him but he still went back for more despite being hurt.
We were surprised it didn't kill him..

Yes but Dachshunds think they are big dogs. They are in a special subset of their own.
It's like having a big dog that takes up less space.

My rescue dog bit my thumb off just below the nail, my wife had to pick it up off the floor. Still got it stitched back on now.
Love that dog though

Speaking as someone who lived with one for 12 years+ and who is NOT really a fan of living with dogs, they are full of personality and try hard to behave as if they're big dogs rather than the size they actually are.
Will steal food given 1/8 of a chance.
Very loyal to their owners, they may bite other people but less likely to bite you. Ours didn't like/trust young girls for some reason but was fine other than that.
Also very handy if you ever have mice/rats in your garage. Be careful if you have any rodent pets though as they will be after those too.
Still, overall I'm glad to be shot of the fucker...
